I Fought The Law (Johnny Cash)
"...I fought the law and the law won
I needed money 'cause I had none
I fought the law and the law won..."
I needed money 'cause I had none
I fought the law and the law won..."
This song reflects the stubborn attitude of Judge Wargrave. He thinks he is in the right so he will fight for justice even if it isn't the right way to do it. Obviously, if he had lived long enough to be tried for his crime(s), he'd never see the outside of a jail cell again. Wargrave rebelled against the law in his own way, taking his own personal revenge. If he had literally fought the law, the law would have won.
