Dear Diary,
I just read a dreadful article in the paper. I must say, I'm sick and tired of seeing these people go unpunished. Because of one man's ignorance and apathy, two children were taken from their mother.
When I took this position, didn't I vow to always be fair? How can I sit here and watch all of this injustice? It's about time someone began handling these cases with some level of severity.
Signed,
Lawrence Wargrave

Dear Diary,
I have made a decision. I have a responsibility to my country to protect the safety of innocent individuals. The only way to do that is to punish the guilty ones. Now I must devise a strategy-- how am I to go about bringing this justice?

Dear Diary,
I have been very busy. I have a plan, and I will go through with it. It's absolutely foolproof! After a bit of research, I have found a number of individuals who have gone unpunished for their crimes! How can the Justice system be so blind? This would not have happened in MY courtroom.
I believe the worst I have come across is a woman who knowingly let a boy she was caring for drown... She was let off the hook, she claims she didn't know anything was wrong. Either way, its nothing but murder.

Lawrence Wargrave

Dear Diary,
My plan is now in full swing. I have begun making preparations. After a bit more research, I now have sufficient information to ensure the maximum amount of suffering for each of these cruel individuals. I have purchased an island (with a false name, of course), far from the coast and extremely isolated. This will be the site of my ultimate justice. I will invite each person to the island, and put them each through torturous situations. Ultimately, they will all be punished for their deeds. Finally, some real fairness.

Dear Diary,
My plan was a success. After a few days on Soldier Island I saw each person I invited beg for mercy, beg not to die like the last person. I believe I was merciful, they don't have to go home and live in shame. I know I did the right thing, merciful or not. Justice has been served.
Now I must do something I knew I'd have to do right from the start. I have accomplished everything I was meant to. There's no reason to return home. I will never be leaving this island. That's no problem, though. I'm an old man. There's nothing for me here, not after I have accomplished what I have.
Since I will not be leaving, there's no reason for me to keep my secret any longer. I have written my complete confession and left it for the detectives to find. This will be the last thing I say or write, and I hope it is found someday for this reason: I know many people would automatically disagree with my actions. I have hopes that once they know the facts of the situation and adapt the correct mindset, they will understand, and hopefully do something about the injustice they experience.
I have gotten Justice. I can rest now.
Signed,
Justice Lawrence Wargrave
